My brother in New Zealand forwarded me the following article about the serious side to play.
This is an article which builds on the importance of unsturctured play and the ability for children just to do things. Camp can be such a programmed space that we do not give the children the ability to just discover and play at things that they naturally would. If you put 5 children in the middle of the woods or in a field – the play will naturally evolve.
Maybe we over program camp…
