My mother used to sing this song all the time. It goes like this:

Oh, I'd rather suck on a lemon drop
than to trust my luck with a lolly pop

With a lemon bean you're always clean,
with a lolly pop all sticky

Oh, I hate the way that it sticks and smears,
It gets all over my hair and ears,

With a lemon bean you're always clean,
with a lolly pop all sticky

I've tried and tried, but never could find
a lolly pop that was half way refined

I hate the way that it sticks and smears, it gets all over my hair and ears

i learned this a little differently but it's been one of the heirlooms my kids have already inherited. i learned it at camp garaywa in mississippi. imagine 350 girls hollering this out in a small auditorium with a tin roof! It was memorable-You couldn't help but memorize it!
