Hard Questions…

I'm filling out an inquiry worksheet for a major partnership right now…and I'm stuck.

The process I normally follow is to read through all the questions, answer the ones that are no brainers  – the easy ones – then come back and do the tougher ones after I've had a bit of time to think them through.

The office is quiet today, I'm listening to The Paper Raincoat album that I purchased this morning after hearing them on Mountain Stage Podcast (my new way to find new music).  My dog is sleeping in a pool of sunlight.  And I'm stuck on this question: Please share how your education mission is alighted with our organizations.

This post is procrastination (but I do love how I can write this in my email and post it…) but the hope is that this procrastination helps me – sort of my thinking out loud.

What is an education mission?  Does it match our organizations mission?  At Pearce Williams we state our mission as: To Welcome, To Teach, To Serve – To welcome all who come, to teach all wish to learn, to serve God in all we do.  It is a simple and all encompassing mission statement.  It covers the fact that one of our core values is to teach – but what is our education mission?

When we teach what do we hope to pass on?  What are the outcomes we want?  Why is this question just being asked now of me?

Hard questions…now back to the worksheet.
